Announced back in September, the PRS SE Torero has arrived and sees a bit of a departure for PRS. Paul Reed Smith referred to the Torero as “a shredder’s dream”. It certainly has many of the required attributes. Let’s take a look.
For a start, it’s the first PRS to be fitted with a Floyd Rose and locking-nut. Tick one for shrediosity value. It’s got a pair of EMG pickups – tick two. It’s also the first PRS with a through-neck construction. Perhaps not essential but it allows a blended, sculpted …

You will be able to view profiles of individual guitars, see images and read information about their history. You can even ‘follow’ a particular guitar to track it and you can interact with its owner.

It’s getting towards that time of year again. Out with the old, in with the new and all that. And, as a discerning, guitar-geek, you need something to record important dates – gigs, rehearsals, Yngwie Malsteem’s birthday, that sort of thing.
You could make do with that calendar that your significant-other has bought – the one full of pictures of weird, fluffy kittens looking terrified because a photographer has glued them into a boot for the purposes of a shot that makes a certain person say ‘awwwww’ but makes most people …

Dave Stewart, guitary-half of the Eurythmics, is auctioning off his vintage Gretsch White Flacon in order to raise funds for non-profit organisation, Stand Up To Cancer.
The guitar is being auctioned on eBay and, at the time of writing, there is a little under three days left in which to bid. You can take a look at the auction page here.
The mid-50’s Gretsch has been played and extensively gigged by Stewart. It’s also featured in the ‘Don’t Ask Me Why’ music video. It comes with its original, Eurythmics, flight case. As …

We know this isn’t exactly breaking news but we’ve just found these sound samples of the Epiphone Wilshire and figured it would make a reasonable excuse to take a look at this guitar.
Not that we really need any excuse to consider a Wilshire here at Guitarless. We frickin’ love the Wilshire.
Released a couple of months back, Epiphone’s new Wilshire is a reproduction of the original ’66 model. All mahogany body and neck and a traditional set-neck joint – meeting at the 22nd fret and allowing excellent access to the dusty …

The guitar that’s causing so much stir around the net. So far, only seen in teasing half-caught glimpses and partial views, the Gibson Dusk Tiger is finally out of the cage. Almost.
We can get a good look at it though and we can learn a bit more about its features.
As we already knew, the top is a – rather nice looking – exotic hardwood. Partially pictured in some of the earlier images, that huge chrome thing – pickguard/control panel/pickup mount is likely to be the biggest stumbling block for many. …

The Bob Moog Foundation will auction this guitar on eBay from December 7th to 17th.
The guitar is a Paul Vo Collector Edition Moog Guitar. It’s one of only 300 ever made (serial number , 005) and it has been signed by, and more importantly, played by, Lou Reed.
The guitar itself has a flamed maple top on an ash body. It’s got a maple neck and ebony fingerboard. It’s the internal fiddly bits that make this guitar special though, for it’s them that make this guitar do Moogy stuff. Not really …

You can now get yourself an SE Singlecut PRS made from Korina.
What’s all the fuss you ask?
Well, Korina is a splendid wood to make guitars from. The first Gibson Flying V and Explorers were made from Korina and it’s being used more and more lately. Korina is, in many ways, very similar to mahogany (they’re close cousins really) – it has a similar grain pattern, although it’s usually a little lighter in colour. It’s also often lighter in weight than mahogany too although individual pieces will obviously vary. Korina sounds …
