Not content with their AmpliTube-related giveaway to the end of October, IK Multimedia have extended it until December 31st, ’09. That’s two more months of freebies from the Amplitube people.
And, as if that weren’t enough, they’ve also upped the giveaway ante by now offering 4 for the price of 1 instead of the 3 for 1 they had been doing.
If you buy one item from a selection of AmpliTube products they’ll give you, for no extra monies, three – that’s three – other AmpliTube products.
There’s a small catch. You’ll only …

Ok, the Reverse V has always looked a bit weird to me but who wouldn’t want the chance to actually own one?
Gibson and The Gay Blades are giving one away. A snazzy white one just like the one pictured here. All you need to do is go to The Gay Blades site and follow the easy instructions which, basically, just require you to send them an email answering ‘who is your favourite guitar player?’ I’m relatively sure that it’s not a trick question where all answers referring to non-Gay Blades …

If you’re a Taylor player based in the UK, it might be worth noting that Taylor Guitars are sending two of their top guitar technicians all the way from California to sunny Leicester in order to service guitars.
Taylor call it Re-Tech.
The event will take place during the Acoustic Avalon show on the 14th and 15th of November between 10AM and 5:30PM. The show is based at the Leicester Racecourse Conference Centre.
Although this is a FREE service, it is very, very limited. Only 50 guitars a day can be seen. Therefore, …

Eric Clapton was to appear, tonight and tomorrow (October 30th and 31st) at The Hall Of Fame concerts in Madison Square garden.
He has, unfortunately, had to pull out of these appearances after having undergone surgery to remove gallstones.
Stepping into the scheduling hole will be another former Yardbird, Jeff Beck. Beck was recently inducted into the Hall Of Fame himself (back in April ’09). Beck was inducted by Jimmy Page, if you’re interested.
Clapton is said to be recovering well and will pick-up his touring schedule in 2010.
The picture opposite helpfully points …

If you’re a rocker of a certain age, there’s a good chance you spent a chunk of your formative years listening to early Ozzy albums desperately trying to figure out what the hell Randy Rhoads was playing. You whippersnappers may have done similar with the albums of the latter-day Ozzy with Zakk Wylde.
Lick Library have just announced, not only a Randy Rhoads, but also a Zakk Wylde version of their Learn To Play – The Solos DVDs.
As well as the DVD tutorials, these releases include a CD of professionally recorded …

That’s quite handsome, isn’t it? Gretsch have press-gagnged renowned hot-rod graphic artist, JimmyC into decorating a heap of Electromatic G5120 guitars.
Using the same enamel paints he would on cars or bikes, JimmyC hand-paints each guitar. The pinstriping is applied on top of the guitar’s original finish and, because it’s done by hand, each will be an original – no two will be the same. Cool, eh?
The guitar underneath the stripes is, essentially, Gretsch’s Electromatic G5120 but there are some differences. Gretsch tell us it will have newly designed pickups and …

Take a look at this. This is the Gibson Les Paul Tribute and it’s a, well, it’s a tribute to, erm, Les Paul.
This is based on the original 1952 Les Paul. As you can see, it even has a trapeze tailpiece (although it’s strung over rather than the incorrect under method). The tailpiece is apparently corrected to match Les’s own patent.
It’s loaded with P-90’s and has a nitrocellulose gold-top on mahogany back and neck.
It’s a strictly limited run with only 564 guitars being made – six instruments for every year …
