So, if you’ve been following the story of the Marshall AFD100 guitar amp, you may be interested to know that Slash has finally got his mitts (and his Les Paul) on the prototype version.
The AFD100’s progress has been interesting. Since it was announced at NAMM, interested geeks have been able to follow its progress through design, construction and testing at its dedicated web site. Marshall, over at the AFD site, announced that Slash had just had a chance to play the prototype and they’ve, very kindly, videoed him doing so. …

That’s a Gibson logo over there but Gibson aren’t the only ones caught up in a series of legal actions that accuse Gibson themselves, Fender, Yamaha, Guitar Centre and the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) of meeting to agree price fixing arrangements. The plaintiffs in these cases claim the alleged cartel is in violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act.
The industry association denies the charges but their attorney has declined to comment pending litigation.
Gibson, however, have commented. This was published earlier today, 27th January.

Rotosound have announced that metal legends, Duff McKagan (Guns & Roses and Velvet Revolver) and James Lomenzo (Megadeth) will lead a line up of artists at their NAMM booth in January.
Joining McKagan and Lomenzo will be Eva Gardener, Warren DeMartini, Robbie Crane (RATT) and also Billy Sheehan.
Pretty impressive line up that Rotosound have bagged there.
The event will take place on Saturday, January 26th at the Rotosound Booth (5596, Hall B) at NAMM.
