You will, I’m sure have seen the Joe Bonamassa Les Paul from gibson. Quite nice, isn’t it? It’s also quite expensive.
But now, you can get the Joe Bonamassa experience from Epiphone. And it looks like it’s a well considered experience.
Based on the ’59 Les Paul, this Epi is constructed in the same manner. Solid mahogany and maple body with a long-tenon, glue in neck. Nice. It’s got the 50’s profile neck for Joe-friendly chunkiness.

Even Gibson themselves think it’s absurd that the original Les Paul was sufficiently unappreciated that it should be discontinued.
But, discontinued it was. After 1960, Gibson would stop making Les Pauls. Well, for a bit anyway.

Released today, Christmas Day, exclusively in Japan, is this handsome new Epiphone.
This is the Tak Matsumoto Signature DC Custom. Tak is one of Japan’s leading guitarists and he’s managed to wangle this signature model from Epiphone.
It’s based on the popular model from Gibson’s Custom Shop and is a bit special.
