Frankly, we don’t have a problem plugging Waits’ new album on Guitarless.  Waits’ albums contain guitar sounds and styles that run the gamut from mellow and understated to freaky, mentalist baboons, ripping apart guitars with their teeth while defecating on them with their giant red arses.  Waits can do very little wrong in the opinion of Guitarless.

If you weren’t lucky enough to catch the man doing his crazy thing on the Glitter And Doom tour (I can crow because I got to see him) last year, you’ll be eager to wrap your ears around this.  And, if you were lucky enough to see him, you’ll be even more eager.

Disc one is a regular old live album full of seventeen tracks recorded in ten different stops on the Glitter And Doom tour.  The track listing is:

The second disc is a bit more special and a bit more unusual.  It is a compilation of Waits’ onstage musings and mutterings.  Anyone familiar with the man will know that he’s something of a raconteur, especially with an audience.  Wait’s new (and now official) website tells us that the meanderings will range from the rituals of insects to the dying breath of Henry Ford.

How can that not be good?

So, if you saw Waits on tour, go get this album and hear yourself cheer and clap.  If you didn’t, go get it and hear others (including me) cheer and clap.  Or just listen to the music – that’s bound to be pretty good too.
