Jimi Hendrix’s home in London is to open to the public as part of an exhibition to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of his death.

The Handel House Museum will host the exhibition which includes clothing and memorabilia as well as handwritten lyrics by Jimi himself.

Hendrix lived in a flat in 23 Brook Street, back in 1968, with his girlfriend at the time, Kathy Etchingham. Handel House Museum is, strictly speaking, at number 25 Brook Street but the buildings at 23 and 25 now form a single building. The top-floor flat that was Hendrix’s home will be open to the public for twelve days from September 25th to 26th. Tickets can be booked from Handel House Museum and cost UK £8. They can be booked from June 1st.

The broader exhibition of memorabilia, Hendrix In Britain, will run from 25th August to 7th November.
