Learn To Play Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page

Another release from the Lick Library.  Five releases if you want to be exact.
Never ones to sit on their guitar-playing hands, the boys and girls at the Lick Library have brought out five guitar tuition DVDs all celebrating the guitar-geekery of Jimmy Page.  And, lets face it, everyone could use a little more Pagey in their lives.
First up are two volumes of Led Zeppelin goodness.
Learn To Play Led Zeppelin Vol. 1 sees Jamie Humphries breadk down, note by note, five all time classic tracks from Zep.  Featured are Black Dog, …

Lick Library – Ozzy’s Axe Men

If you’re a rocker of a certain age, there’s a good chance you spent a chunk of your formative years listening to early Ozzy albums desperately trying to figure out what the hell Randy Rhoads was playing.  You whippersnappers may have done similar with the albums of the latter-day Ozzy with Zakk Wylde.
Lick Library have just announced, not only a Randy Rhoads, but also a Zakk Wylde version of their Learn To Play – The Solos DVDs.
As well as the DVD tutorials, these releases include a CD of professionally recorded …

Tom Waits – New Live Album

Frankly, we don’t have a problem plugging Waits’ new album on Guitarless.  Waits’ albums contain guitar sounds and styles that run the gamut from mellow and understated to freaky, mentalist baboons, ripping apart guitars with their teeth while defecating on them with their giant red arses.  Waits can do very little wrong in the opinion of Guitarless.
If you weren’t lucky enough to catch the man doing his crazy thing on the Glitter And Doom tour (I can crow because I got to see him) last year, you’ll be eager to …

Kats Karavan – John Peel Box Set

News is beginning to make the rounds of the internet concerning the release of Kats Karavan a 4-CD box set of music from the legendary John Peel’s radio shows. Readers outside of the UK and Ireland may be unaware of Peel but he was a household name for forty-odd years, renowned for playing a massively eclectic mix of music from new and upcoming artists and bands. It’s no exaggeration to say that he provided the first radio broadcasts for many hundreds of artists.
Spanning the years from 1968 to his death …

Whole Lotta Backtracks

It’s an AC/DC box set.  It’s got CDs, DVDs, an LP, book and a bunch of badges ‘n’ stuff.
That’s not all.  See the image over there?  That’s the box it comes in (and it’s a biggie – 12 inches on a side).  The top bit is an actual, working amp.  You can plug in and rock out while listening to the tracks.  Ok, of course it’ll sound terrible, but that’s not really the point – it’s still cool and very fun.
You get three CD’s.  The first contains a bundle of …
